GISEEM

Dol-Dol physical 3d mapping

GISEEM was a GIS project in Kenya around 2007-2008. I set up a GIS system based on Geoserver, uDig, PostGIS, JavaScript, GPS, Google Maps and other technologies, maintained it, created documentation and training materials and helped train the local communities in the use of the Geoserver.

The project was slowed down by the extremely violent election riots.

Although the server is gone the GISEEM Technical Manual still remains and gives a picture of the technical side of the project.

I consider GISEEM and FLOSS Manuals to be my most interesting projects so far.

Tulostinkartta (Printer map in English)

Tulostinkartta

A website where 3D printer owners could add their 3D-printers to a map.
Then users could send 3D files to be printed and pay with Bitcoins.

This was a very interesting project which combined geodata, 3D-printing, cryptocurrencies, etc.
